Irene Nixon is the complete hostess welcoming you to the River Garth guest house. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean with a good sized en suite. Coffee and tea making facilities and a telly means you're all set for an evening in Penrith! Breakfast was delicious and bespoke to you. I'm grateful for the gluten free option procided.
The AA doesn't award a 5* rating for nothing and you can see why they did. Both a beautiful location and place to stay. Irene was more than welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. The guest house was immaculate and finished to a very high standard, not to mention spotless. We wouldn't hesitate in staying here again.
Found this delightful Guest house by chance and what a find! Beautiful location within walking distance of Penrith, on the river. Hostess Irene Nixon is a joy and makes you feel at home. Rooms very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Off street parking and all you would expect for their 5 star rating. Highly recommend to anyone. Awarded Friendliest guest house in Britain this year and well deserved.Helen and Alex
